Lessons from the Masters

We recently got to see a collection of extraordinary masterpieces by some of the world's most famed artists including Claude Monet, Marc Chagall, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Henri Matisse, Paul Gaugin, Mary Cassatt, John Singer Sargent, and so many more. While admiring their works we got to thinking...

"Why is it that these artists became so famous while many others of similar talent remain undiscovered?"

What we learned is that there were two commonalities among so many of the highly regarded artists that fill museums around the world today...even though many of these creatives are long gone. And whether you're into art or not, we can all learn a thing or two about how they got so successful. We found that the key was association.

First, all of these artists were part of a group, a mastermind you could say, whether it was the impressionists society, the surrealists, or some other collective, this linchpin of the network worked wonders. Together they had more power, a variety of perspectives, and increased influence that got them noticed.

Second, they studied under other masters. These mentors not only passed along their skills, they were also able to provide connections, guidance, and encouragement that opened doors that were otherwise out of reach.

The lesson for us here is that masterminds and mentors that helped to catapult these artists to international fame and influence can have the same affect on us today. Whatever you may be setting out to accomplish, our efforts are always multiplied when we have the support and encouragement of others. One of our goals with Aretios is to provide support and encouragement to help you achieve your goals and create a community where we can all learn and grow together.
